You don’t have to use the website. The MyHTSpace mobile app works great for checking pay stubs, benefits, and managing your time off on the go.

For iPhone/iPad Users

Step 1: Open the App Store

  • Home screen
  • Look for the “App Store” app (blue icon with white plus sign)
  • Tap it to open

Step 2: Search for MyHTSpace

  • Bottom of screen, tap the “Search” icon (magnifying glass)
  • In the search box, type: MyHTSpace
  • Hit search

Step 3: Find the Official App

  • You’ll see several results
  • Look for the one with the Harris Teeter logo
  • Developer should say “Harris Teeter, LLC”
  • Tap the official app (not any knockoffs)

Step 4: Install the App

  • Tap the “Get” button (or cloud icon if already downloaded)
  • You might need to use Face ID, Touch ID, or Apple ID password
  • Tap to confirm
  • Wait for it to install (usually 30 seconds to 1 minute)

  • Once installed, the button changes to “Open”

App Permissions

Both iOS and Android might ask for permissions:

GPS/Location:

  • You can “Allow While Using” or “Don’t Allow”
  • Not required for the app to work

Notifications:

  • I recommend “Allow”
  • You get notified when pay stubs are available
  • You can turn off later if you prefer

Camera:

  • Only needed if you want to scan QR codes
  • Not essential

Allow all or just necessary ones. The app works with minimal permissions.

First-Time Login

When You First Open the App

You’ll see the login screen. It looks like the website login, but on your phone.

Fields you’ll see:

  • Username field
  • Password field
  • “Remember Me” checkbox
  • “Forgot Password?” link
  • “Login” button

Entering Your Login Information

Step 1: Username

  • Tap the “Username” field
  • Type your MyHTSpace username (the one you created during account registration)
  • This is NOT your email address
  • Example: smith_john_24

Step 2: Password

  • Tap the “Password” field
  • Type your password carefully
  • Password is case-sensitive
  • If you have an asterisk (*) or special character, remember it

Step 3: Remember Me (Optional)

  • The “Remember Me” checkbox saves your login
  • Only check this if it’s your personal phone
  • If it’s a shared phone, leave it unchecked
  • Never check it on public/work computers

Step 4: Login

  • Tap the blue “Login” button
  • The app connects to Harris Teeter’s servers
  • Usually takes 2-5 seconds

Two-Factor Authentication on Mobile App

If you have 2FA enabled:

After you enter your password:

  • App asks: “Enter your 6-digit code”
  • Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.)
  • Find your MyHTSpace account
  • Copy the 6-digit code
  • Go back to MyHTSpace app
  • Paste the code
  • Tap “Verify”

First-Time Device Verification

The first time you login from a new phone, MyHTSpace might ask you to verify the device:

Method 1: Email Verification

  • “We’ve sent a verification code to your email”
  • Check your email inbox
  • Copy the code
  • Paste into the app
  • Tap verify

Method 2: Text Verification

  • “We’ve sent a code to your phone”
  • You’ll get a text with a code
  • Type it into the app
  • Tap verify

Method 3: Security Questions

  • Answer 2-3 security questions you set up
  • Tap verify

After verification: Your phone is now “trusted” and you won’t have to verify every time.

You’re In!

Once logged in, you’ll see:

Biometric Login Setup

Once you’ve logged in once, you can enable fingerprint or face recognition so you don’t have to type your password every time.

Enable Fingerprint or Face ID

Step 1: Look for Settings

  • Tap your name or profile icon (usually top left or top right)
  • Look for “Settings” or “Account Settings”
  • Scroll down

Step 2: Find Security Settings

  • Look for “Security,” “Login Security,” or “Biometric”
  • You should see an option: “Enable Fingerprint Login” or “Enable Face ID”

Step 3: Enable It

  • Tap the toggle to turn it on
  • Your phone might ask you to confirm your fingerprint or face
  • Complete the verification on your phone

Step 4: Test It

  • Log out of the app
  • The app should ask you to login
  • Instead of typing password, you should see a fingerprint or face icon
  • Tap it and use your fingerprint/face to login

  • You’ll see fingerprint or face recognition prompt
  • Put your finger on the sensor (or look at camera for Face ID)
  • The app unlocks in 1 second

Daily Usage Tips

Pin the App to Your Home Screen

So you don’t have to search for it every time:

  • Find the MyHTSpace app
  • Long-press it
  • Select “Add to Home Screen” or “Pin”
  • It now appears on your home screen

Enable Notifications

So you know when your paycheck is available:

  • In app, go to Settings
  • Look for “Notifications”
  • Turn on notifications
  • You’ll get alerts when:
    • Pay stub is available
    • Schedule is posted
    • Benefits enrollment opens

App Won’t Open or App Keeps Crashing

What to try:

  1. Close the app completely
  2. Wait 10 seconds
  3. Open it again
  4. If still crashing:
    • Force close the app (remove from recent apps)
    • Restart your phone
    • Open app again

If still crashing:

  • Uninstall the app
  • Restart phone
  • Download and reinstall from App Store/Play Store

Can’t Login After Installing

Why this happens:

  • Mistyped username or password
  • App hasn’t finished loading
  • 2FA is enabled and you need code

Fix:

  1. Check you’re using username, not email
  2. Check caps lock isn’t on
  3. Make sure password is correct (try resetting it first)
  4. If 2FA enabled, make sure you have the code
  5. Wait 10 seconds for app to fully load after entering password
  6. Try again

Forgot Username/Password

Username:

  • Try “Forgot Password” link in app
  • Use your email instead
  • Call HR for help

Password:

Biometric Login Not Working

What to try:

  1. Make sure you enabled it (see Biometric Setup)
  2. Make sure your fingerprint/face is registered in phone settings
  3. Try again (sometimes needs multiple attempts)
  4. Use password login instead
  5. Go to app settings and re-enable biometric login

On iPhone:

  • Check Settings → Face ID or Touch ID
  • Make sure your fingerprint or face is added
  • Sometimes Face ID settings interfere

On Android:

  • Check Settings → Biometrics
  • Make sure fingerprint is enrolled
  • Try again in app

App Says No Internet Connection

What to try:

  1. Check your WiFi or cellular is on
  2. Try a different WiFi network

Notifications Not Working

First check:

  • Then try logging in again

Will the app work without internet?

How do I delete the app?

iPhone:

  • Long-press the app
  • Select “Remove App”
  • Select “Delete App”
  • Confirm

Android:

Your account stays active. You’re just deleting the app. You can reinstall anytime.
